About CarrierIndex.org
National Commercial Motor Carrier Safety, Insurance & Compliance Intelligence
Our Mission
CarrierIndex.org provides shippers, freight brokers, logistics teams, commercial insurers, and the general public with instant, transparent access to official U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) safety records. Our database indexes over 2,130,000 registered motor carriers, 467,000+ active and pending insurance filings, 402,000+ federal Out-of-Service enforcement orders, and 252,000+ commercial crash reports.
Data Sources & Methodology
All records published on CarrierIndex.org are compiled from official federal public datasets released by the U.S. Department of Transportation, including the FMCSA Motor Carrier Management Information System (MCMIS), Licensing and Insurance (L&I) filings, Form MCS-150 biennial census updates, and Safety Measurement System (SMS) enforcement feeds. Our CarrierShield™ engine cross-references authority revocations, pending insurance cancellations, and shared contact identifiers to help logistics professionals verify carrier compliance prior to dispatch.
